We make commercials, documentaries, short films and interviews. Every one of them starts with the story.

Commercials

Spots for broadcast and social, cast, shot and finished by a full crew, in English and Spanish.

Documentary

Real people in real places, from a single room in Tyler to the streets of Rome.

Short films

Original stories, and the cinematography, camera package and crew behind other filmmakers' stories.

Interviews

Leaders, students and pastors on camera, lit and framed so they look like themselves.

Four projects, up close.

Client since 2018

Forty films and a feature documentary for GYC.

We plan and produce GYC's films: conference trailers, outreach spots, personal stories, a short film and GYC The Movement, a feature-length documentary. In 2022 and 2023 we ran their full marketing.

Feature documentary, in post-production

REMEMBER, a documentary filmed across Europe.

A cinematic investigation presented by Dustin Peslin of Hope Through Prophecy, filmed from Rome to Prague. SP7 co-directed and shot it, and built the campaign site that goes with it.

Series, brand, website and launch

Ten episodes, plus the brand, website and launch.

For Pastor Christian Smith we produced What Do Seventh-day Adventists Believe?, a ten-episode series, then made the brand, the website and the launch campaign. It premiered live on YouTube on August 8, 2026.

Guinness World Records

The world's tallest dog, on location.

Guinness World Records hired SP7 to direct, produce and shoot the story on location. Their team edited it in-house from our footage.

Work from our founder's other studio.

SP7 founder Shadai Perez is also co-owner of Lightbox Collective with Samuel Richmann. Work made there is credited to Lightbox.

A commercial is an expense, and a story is an asset.

How a project actually runs.

  1. We ask first

Before cameras, we ask what you're trying to fix and who it's for. Sometimes the answer is a campaign, not one video.

  2. A proposal built for you

Your problem in your own words, a plain sense of what projects like it cost, then one fixed price. We walk you through it live.

  3. One link for the crew

Call sheet, map, schedule, releases and permits on a single page. When something changes, everyone sees it.

  4. Notes, then the final cut

Edit, color and sound in-house. When a late note comes in, we look at a recut before anyone talks about a reshoot.

The founder

Meet Shadai Perez.

Shadai started SP7 Studios in 2014 while he was still managing a hotel. He taught himself photography before he owned a camera, and shot after work, on weekends and at night. In 2015 he left the hotel to make films full time.

He has directed, produced and shot work for GYC, Guinness World Records, Microsoft and Disney. Alongside SP7 he co-owns Lightbox Collective, wrote a book about running a business, and builds software for filmmakers.

Tell us what you're making.

A few lines is plenty: what it is, roughly when, and where it will live. The first conversation is free, and it's mostly us asking questions.
